report:
An exquisite weekday evening paddle on serene waters. Practised solo paddling for about an hour, then got pal Mark Humphries to join me and we paddled out to the spit. Huge carp spawning in shallow inlet kept smacking against the boat. Saw about 8 sand cranes and moved in for a closer look at one of their nests, containing 2 enormous pale green eggs, at least 6" in diameter. Wow! |
