We'll meet at 9am at the York Slip (our usual Wednesday night meetup point). We'll load our canoes at QCYC and then canoe through the lagoons to the north end of the islands and portage to the outer harbour at Gibralter Point. We'll canoe along the island in the outer harbour and explore the coast of Tommy Thompson park and bird sanctuary before landing at Snake Island to set up camp for the night. We'll camp at Snake Island and and do various fun activities before returning to QCYC to catch the tender home at noon. This is all in preparation for a longer canoe trip on the first weekend in October. |
