whitewater play novice paddlers 1 day
Black River (Washago)
Saturday, May 10, 2008
route:
length: 8.0km, 1 day
difficulty: novice

participants: Bonnie Bliss, Karonne Lansel, Keith Nunn, Ross Nairn,

report:

Water was too high to be much fun.  Most stuff was pretty washed out. There weren't even really any good waves at the lunch rock.

It was fun to be out though and I think it was a good warm up for Ross and Karonne.  Karonne seemed to be enjoying her borrowed Rival and dreaming of a solo boat of her own.

the best part for me was the fact that you could paddle up the flume beside bell ringer chute and with a very short lift over run it again.  There was so much water in the chute that it wasn't a challenge, but it was the most fun thing on the river that day.  I did it three times -- twice before we ran out corner ledge and Pinky's and once after.
