whitewater play intermediate paddlers 1 day
Beaver Creek (Hwy 7)
Saturday, April 19, 2008
route:
length: 8.0km, 1 day
difficulty: intermediate

participants: Caroline Owen, Chris Mack, Keith Nunn, Peter Farr, Stephen Farr, Mike Yee, Nick Flengas

report:

A good run.  There was very high water so there were lots of other folks on the river.  The high water made the Beaver a bit less pointy than usual (more water over the sharp rocks).  Most of us walked the usual stuff -- Triple drop, the Falls and Ugly.

The high water put you in the trees for some set ups.  When Mikey tried to run Ugly he tried to sneak left, but got pushed out into the main flow sideways.  Fortunately, he was fine, but his Bulldog was holed and he had a nasty yard sale.

We did find his boat 3 rapids later.  He was able to paddle out by keeping the bilge pump running.  Fortunately, he wasn't hurt.
