Another fun race thanks to the great work of Jeff McColl and the volunteers who helped him set up the course and who helped judge the race. The weather could have been better, but it was far from the worst we've had and the water level was just fine. The turnout was a bit low, but the opening of the Head affected the attendance of the better paddlers and the weather affected the attendance of the more casual crowd. There were quite a few VVs however. Carlo took first in the c1 rodeo class, Al and Aleisha took 1st in the OC2 family class and Morgan made her first solo run ever. There were other notable showings, but I can't remember them clearly enough to mention them acuurately, so I'll just hope that Jeff makes the results available online (I can help, Jeff). Next year is the 50th run of the Credit Race. It would be great if the VVCC could get more on board with the race and help organize it in future to take some pressure off the wonderful Jeff McColl. |
