novice paddlers 1 day
Rouge River
Saturday, March 11, 2006
route:
length: 7.0km, 1 day
difficulty: novice

organizer: Keith
participants: Bonnie Bliss, Keith Nunn,

report:
Bonnie and I had a great run down this local gem. No major features, but almost continuous whitewater. A few surf spots. Not too many sweepers. The level we ran at was close to the minimum (in my opinion) for a fun run. Much shallower and there would have been some paddle bangs. We were never short of water to put the whole blade in.

As ever, I recommend this run. Fewer eddies than the Credit, but faster water. If you want to check levels use http://scitech.pyr.ec.gc.ca/waterweb/ and choose the "ROUGE RIVER NEAR MARKHAM (02HC022)" station.
