report:

The ACA OC Slalom Nationals and North American Championships held this weekend were a great success, with paddlers coming from all over the US and even two from Japan. A few VVCC'rs were there to compete and to help out. The Gull was pumping at 8.5 on the gauge (23 CMS) and the course had several of challenging gates.

Results will be posted soon (check Andrew and Carole Westwood's site), but our own Beth Kennedy made several trips to the podium, and Stephen Farr placed third in the X Class, although he was not at the award ceremony to receive his medal. Contrary to specious rumour he was actually out on the river getting in just a little bit more paddling.

Hopefully I have not missed anyone.
