report:
Mike and I had a very nice "Spring" trip down the Credit River yesterday morning. The Boston Mills gauge was at 4.6m, which is fairly high. The weather was overcast and just above 0c, but we were warm enough in our dry suits and fleece. No ice anywhere along our route... just a couple of trees down, including a new one mid stream just about Burnhamthorpe; easy to see and avoid, though.

On the way down we saw a couple of deer, one a buck growing a nice set of antlers.

We met at the take out at 8am, were on the water around 8:45 and were done just after noon. At this level there were a number of surf waves and small holes. Mike was in his brand new C1 and was being very cautious (for him). The level was possibly a little too high; there would have been more eddies and features with a little less water. Still, it was much better than spending the morning at work.
