report:
Stephen was bugging me to let him try out his new Dagger Aftershock and it looked like Saturday would be a nice day, so we decided to go to the Credit River to play a bit and then hook up with Chris and Garry to go downriver later in the afternoon. My first plan was to do the downriver part in the tandem, but Stephen was doing so well in his new boat we decided to let him take it down.

The levels were high – even higher than the slalom weekend. It was so high that some of the features were washed out and many side channels were full of water. Still, it was a fun run. The weather was good - sunny and mild - right until the takeout. As we were putting the boats up the temperature dropped abruptly and the clouds thickened. Timing is everything!

Stephen handled himself well although he still has a tendency to head for the biggest waves. In the Aftershock that makes for a very wet ride. He told me he felt like he was paddling a bathtub full of cold water sometimes.

Lots of thanks to Chris and Garry for shepparding Stephen down the river, and for the time they have both spent teaching him the tricks of the trade.
