UPDATE 2010-08-25 -- I'm feeling very confident that this will go ahead next year. I'm starting to plan it as part of a trip to Nova Scotia and maybe Maine. The Maine part might spawn another canoe trip. If so, I'll post it here as well. The date for this trip might slip a week later in June to limit the school conflict.
My original post:
This is an amazing clear river on the Gaspé peninsula. I'll post more details later or you can ask me. It's about 15hrs of driving to get there and needs 7 days of paddling.
Here's a link to a bit more info: http://gorp.away.com/gorp/location/canada/quebec/4river3.htm
Although Cime Aventure acts like they own the river, I have some info from Les Portageurs in Montreal that will let us do this gem self-outfitted.
Warning: there will be children on this trip. We try to make them work hard and suck it up, but they're still children, so we'll be moving a little slower, take a day off during the trip, and you will hear children complaining and being disciplined from time to time. They're experienced canoe tripping kids (Morgan has 94 nights/1000km on trip and Liam 52 nights/600km), but they're still kids.
